Do YOU see THE Elephant in The Room?

Today is the International Day of the Girl. This blog is dedicated to ALL women! YOU should be celebrated!
If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality. Desmond Tutu

Happy Tuesday, October 11th, 2016!
October 11 is the 285th day of the year. There are 81 days remaining until the end of the year. There are 27 days till election.  Today is the International Day of the Girl. It is also Coming Out Day.
I celebrate the differences and diversity in ALL of us. To all my Jewish  and non-Jewish friends and family, I ask forgiveness for any wrongdoings or hurts I may have caused you this past year. I wish you all an easy fast and a beautiful beginning for this next year.

I would also like to thank former Lt. Governor, Betsy McCaughey as well as the rest of Donald Trump's surrogates for the inspiration for this blog.
Please note that ALL of the OPINIONS in this blog are my own.

I heard Betsy on CNN yesterday morning as I have on numerous occasions during this election year. She was defending Trump, as she usually does, while attacking Hillary. There's no way around it. All of Trump's surrogates have been well trained in the art of the pivot.
No matter what any question is asked of these (mostly women) that are brought on to defend Trump's latest action, they will find a way to blame Hillary for doing 'worse'.
Daily, it is like a cast of characters from Oz. In addition to The Wizard of Oz, we are introduced to a cast of characters that I hear and watch in disbelief.

As described in Wikipedia: The Wizard is one of the characters in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Unseen for most of the novel, he is the ruler of the Land of Oz and highly venerated by his subjects. Believing he is the only man capable of solving their problems, Dorothy Gale and her friends travel to the Emerald City, the capital of Oz, to meet him. Oz is very reluctant to meet them, but eventually each is granted an audience, one by one. In each of these occasions, the Wizard appears in a different
form, once as a giant head, once as a beautiful fairy, once as a ball of fire, and once as a horrible monster. When, at last, he grants an audience to all of them at once, he seems to be a disembodied voice.
You'd have to be living under a rock to not know about the brouhaha that happened on Friday night when the Access Hollywood tape was revealed in which Trump said some vile things about how he treats women. A lot of people have tried to make jokes about this but I'm not laughing. I'm ashamed of what this country has turned into.
Most DECENT people were reviled and offended by this. Why? Because those of us who are offended operate from a moral compass.

It amazes me that people are not able to put their principles before their "party". Even though I am politically opposed to John Richard Kasich, he refused to go down that rabbit hole of getting behind Trump and, for that, he will always have my utmost respect.
I even admired Ted Cruz, for a brief moment, when he refused to endorse the man who attacked his wife by saying that she (Ted Cruz's wife) was less beautiful than than his own (Melania) AND that his father was involved in the assassination of President Kennedy.
It's their will and that's that.

I am not one of those who have posted on Facebook and Social media that "if you don't agree with me or are pro-Trump, 'unfriend' me now."  When I ask others why they are for Trump, I have yet to get a straight answer...WITHOUT an attack on Hillary.
On Friday of last week, A bombshell tape exposed Donald Trump’s true “character”. Trump's most disturbing debate moment was his threat to our democracy.
This is nothing new. Since June 16th, 2015 he has been on a mission to destroy the fabric of our country and now, the Republican Party is in turmoil, with many in their ranks scrambling to distance themselves from their toxic presidential candidate following the release of a tape of him boasting about sexual assault. The truth is we all KNOW who Trump is. We have seen it in his actions and words long before he got in this race.

When someone shows you who they are believe them; the first time.
Maya Angelou

What I don't understand are all the people who can't/don't/refuse to stand up to the elephant in the room. The elephant in the room is bullying and attacks on other people based on their ethnicity, religion, race, sexuality, gender...is there anything left to attack? And where he has left off, we are attacking each other. Aren't we all better than this?
I saw a  great interview last night with Tavis Smiley who hit the nail on the head.

The media has created this monster and now they are having trouble destroying it. Once Pandora's box or the genii is let out of the bottle, it is hard to put it back in.
Make no mistake, Trump ad saying HRC lacks stamina is his sexist code for she can't be president because "she's a woman."
We also have allowed over the past 25 years, with social media now in our lives, for this bullying culture to thrive. It is very easy for people, with no thought of the vitriol being spewed, to send horrific messages to complete strangers. It makes perfect sense that a 'reality star' would now be running for president.
Every reality celebrates the bullying culture. It is all about one-upmanship, kicking someone off the island, someone getting fired. Trump made the later into a catch phrase through The Apprentice and Celebrity Apprentice.
He showed glee each episode for firing each individual that he fired.
When I stopped for dinner tonight, I turned on CNN.
It was a story on Trump saying it was OK to call Ivanka a "piece of a!@" No, Donald it is not. It is never acceptable to think of others as a piece of furniture, a commodity to own. It saddens me that when Howard Stern made that comment that you didn't say, "this interview is over."
It also disturbs me that Billy Bush is fired from being an entertainment reporter at NBC while Trump is still running for the highest office in the land.
Hillary got a lot of flack for referring to Trump supporters a "basket of deplorables." She later apologized. She got more criticism for that comment by some of Trump's surrogates
than Trump has received over his offensive comments from the very same people.
Margaret Thatcher and Walter Cronkite must be spinning in their graves.
Read below the legacy we are leaving for our children. Are you proud, Donald?

AND DONALD TRUMP IN THE NEWS TODAY AND ON TWITTER

Wow, Town Hall questions were given to Crooked Hillary Clinton in advance of big debates against Bernie Sanders. Hillary & CNN FRAUD! (Tweeted at 7PM)

The very foul mouthed Sen. John McCain begged for my support during his primary (I gave, he won), then dropped me over locker room remarks! (Tweeted 9 hours prior to this blog)

Disloyal R's are far more difficult than Crooked Hillary. They come at you from all sides. They don’t know how to win - I will teach them! (Tweeted 9 hours prior to this blog)

Presidential? You decide!

From a friend of mine on Facebook
WOMEN, PLEASE RESPOND; men welcome, too, as this post is made in the hope of gaining better understanding:
EDITING TO ADD: Please read all the way through; this is NOT about the election or any candidates.
Lots of professional athletes are making statements that they don't engage in what Trump calls "locker room talk." I believe them, and I'm glad to hear it. And several men here on FB have told me personally that this kind of talk is not prevalent in their worlds. I believe them, too, and am glad. At the same time, though, I'm interested in the other aspect of this conversation, which is actions. Because I'm pretty much assuming that there isn't a woman alive who hasn't at some time in her life been on the receiving end of unwanted contact by a man. ➡︎To be clear: I am not saying all men do it. I am saying I think it's likely that pretty much all women have experienced it. And just as I know that many white people don't necessarily "see" the daily indignities of racism people of color learn to live with (even while fighting against it), I'm
not sure all men actually realize that there's a certain ordinariness to these invasions of girls' and women's space. So, women, am I wrong, or have pretty much all of us been grabbed or touched or [fill in the blank] at least once in our lives? ⬅︎
Edit 2: One example (just in case anyone still doesn't get what this is about): I was walking north on lower Broadway. A man walking south grabbed my right breast as he passed by me. I remember the look on his face: it was one of anger.

Time is the one thing we possess. Our success depends on the use of our time, and its by-product, the odd noment.
