The Trump Effect

The problem with people is not what they know. It's what they know that ain't so.
-Will Rogers

Today is Friday, July 22nd, 2016!
July 22 is the 204th day of the year in the Gregorian calendar. There are 162 days remaining until the end of the year.
As I began my blog today, I was listening to Is This What Feeling Gets (Dorothy's Theme) from The Wiz starring Diana Ross.
It is truly apros pros for where I am emotionally today after listening to Trump's speech last night which was the culmination of four days of a Republican Convention, the likes of which I have never seen before.
He may be many things. A leader, he is not. For a man or woman to run for the highest office in the land and to base their entire platform on divisiveness or fear, they are not for me on any level. Mr. Trump has been highly irresponsible on how he has run  his entire campaign.  The New York Times wrote today, " Donald John Trump accepted the Republican presidential nomination on Thursday night with an unusually vehement appeal to Americans who feel that their country is spiraling out of control and yearn for a leader who will take aggressive, even extreme, actions to protect them."
Corey Lewandowski Got Away With Bullying—Until Donald Trump’s Campaign Cratered

We do not need the extreme attacks and or rhetoric that he espouses. Hillary Clinton has an ad running now in which we see the confusd reactions of children watching Trump on TV. It is not just children, the entire world is watching. A friend of mine wrote to me this
Larry Kerchner has written a song called Love Is Love which we will be debuting in the coming weeks.
I wonder what Will Rogers' take would be on Trump
morning, "It's very frustrating to have been involved in politics my entire life advocating for change for good to now see the turn in this election cycle.  I feel as if the wheels are turning backwards.  Our society as a whole should not be burdened with the divisive issues at hand.  We all deserve better!"
I saw a tweet today that read, "Was surprised to see the sun and hear the birds this morning. Thought death and destruction were imminent." Speaks volumes!
There comes a time in life when you walk away
from all the pointless drama and people who create it, and surround
yourself with people who make you laugh so hard that you forget the bad
and focus on the good.

Life is too short to be anything but happy.
Repost if you agree, I just did.~~ ...JUST SAY NO To toxic people

Ana Navarro
People will work for a living but they'll die for recognition. - Lee Odden

Trump's speech last night, today, and always has been about twisting facts for jokes. For him to advocate that Hillary wants to abolish the 2nd Amendment and take away people's guns is irresponsible and he KNOWS he is lying each time he says it.

Ana Navarro on Donald Trump: His speech "does nothing but bring out the darkness in America"

When Corey Lewandowski was Trump's campaign manager, his motto was to "let Trump be Trump". That served him well until he was "fired". How was he rewarded? He was hired by CNN.
Used with Ricky Ritzel's permission
Just three days after being axed as Donald Trump’s campaign manager, Lewandowski was hired as a talking head on CNN. From this position he has been spinning election coverage in Trump’s favor. CNN is constantly stacking their programs in Trump's favor.
Trump was admittedly strong, focusing on international trade deals and showcasing his newfound command of the teleprompter.
Paul Manafort was then hired to replace Lewandowski. Daily he is cleaning up messes and making comments that truly reveals this campaign for what it is.

Donald Trump is not very popular with American women. His campaign manager, Paul Manafort, may not be helping that cause lately.
Last night, Ivanka Trump was brought in to humanize her father. In fact, ALL of the kids were brought out this week and paraded to the world to prove that if he was a good dad, he most certainly would be a great president. I'm not buying. We have seen, not only over the past thirteen months, but this man has been in the spotlight for all of MY New York years and beyond (Next month will mark 37 years that I have been a New Yorker.)

The Republican Party must be feeling this right now
This man who desires to be the 45th president has already created a wedge based on taunts, attacks, and fear mongering. He has taken recent news events and politicized them for his own agenda.
After the massacre of Orlando, he even patted himself on the shoulder taking credit with an "I told you so!". He has never addressed the fact that this was a hate crime targeted at the LGBTQ community because of a man's internal homophobia greatly attributed to his background and upbringing. Also being ignored is the easy accessibility to purchasing these assault weapons. When the democratic party tries to get the deadlocked GOP to listen
Courage or fear? YOUR decision!
and change these laws, Paul Ryan tries to shut the party down by referring to it as a "publicity stunt".

Former U.S. congressman and Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, David Duke, announced Friday that he is running for the Senate. Duke will run to replace Louisiana Sen. David Vitter, who declined to run for re-election after a failed gubernatorial bid last year. Read MORE)
Jon Stewart addressed the nation Thursday night in one of his first political TV appearances since retiring from the “Daily Show” last year. Look at what he had to say. Click HERE.
We need to beat these people—and not just Trump.
We need to beat each and every one of these Republicans propping up this vile, extremist campaign.
Edith Piaf had No Regrets — Tony Schwartz, who wrote Donald Trump's The Art of The Deal, has More Regrets than he can count!! Read Liz Smith's column Today.
If Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, and every person who backs Trump desires a party of HATE, they are succeeding.
Leading criminologist on Trump's speech: “A good illustration of how to lie with statistics.”

Donald Trump has a terrifying to-do list for his first 100 days as president.

As you can see, we have a LOT of work to do.  It is IMPERATIVE that everyone registers to vote NOW. It is imperitive that every person goes to the polls on Tuesday, November 8th. If you need transportation to go vote, let someone know. If you need to vote with an absentee vote, please make sure that you vote in advance so your voice can be heard. Trump is NOT YOUR VOICE! Let's all agree to celebrate that pride in each other  instead of tearing each other down.
